PFG Group Supplies New High-Speed Boat to Victoria
PFG Group delivered a new 7 metre Aquatruck Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB) to Parks Victoria last week.
PFG was selected from a competitive tender process to supply Parks Victoria with a patrol and dive boat for marine science and research of Victoria’s coastline. In particular, the need for high-speed stability, seaworthiness and the provision of a smooth ride was of importance.
PFG has now successfully manufactured over 100 Aquatruck boats ranging from 4 to 12 metres over recent years. Aquatruck’s are manufactured from High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), which has a much longer work life than equivalent aluminium boats and offers a more comfortable operator experience.
“HDPE has been proven over many years now to be superior to equivalent sized fibreglass and aluminium boats for commercial work, particularly in the harsh environments and applications of aquaculture, public security and emergency services work,” Chief Executive Officer of PFG, Rob Inches said in Hobart today.
“This latest RHIB has been constructed by our highly skilled Tasmanian fabricators and is an example of the latest thinking in high-speed, dependable RHIB design.
“Currently in construction is a similar 8m RHIB for an interstate police agency and later this year we will commence construction on a multiple order for the Western Australian Government.
“Aquatruck is a great Tasmanian success story and we are very proud of our people, their craftsmanship and the vast array of products we offer,” Mr Inches said.
